This page is going to be dedicated to all of the creepy things that in my world I am going to attribute to the spirit of the cabinet.

Update to my update!
Forgot to mention that Joe also heard multiple knocking sounds the evening that I was at the hotel. It wasn't the cats as they were both in the living room with him.
Last night, the cats and I were sitting in the living room and I heard a thud, thought something had fallen off the breakfast bar. Isobel jumped off my lap and right up onto the bar staring at the fridge. There was a small pool of water on the floor and the cover to the filter was popped out. Filter was changed over a month ago so not like I didn't pop it all the way back in...
Curious side note, Isobel normally jumps on the small table by the computer, very rarely on the breakfast bar. That is usually Sam's territory.
Monday March 9th through Sunday March 22, 2015
My daughter and her two girls came to visit and it seems that the cabinet spirit wasn't sure if she was happy or not. First event was when she was taking a picture of the cabinet.
Please note the Little Boy Blue Hummel turned to the side. All of the statues were facing forward. What made this even odder is that just prior to this, she was on her cell and had trouble with the connection. Kept thinking she could hear a woman on the line and the call kept cutting in and out. Only time during her visit that this happened.
A few days later, my darling little CC is sitting in the highchair eating and out of the blue turns toward the cabinet and says, "hi ghost" and then continues eating as if nothing happened.
We kept a close eye on the cabinet for the rest of the week and made several jokes that the noise from the girls must of scared the ghost away. Didn't give it much more thought until Sunday night.
Joe texted me at the hotel and told me the spirit was very busy. He went to the transfer station and when he came back the small table and chairs on the porch were moved to the end of the porch by the cabinet. The blanket, pail and trucks that the kids had been playing with were on the grass. The blanket was spread out with the toys on it. The plastic ball the grand kids had been playing with was in the middle of the yard. He picked everything up and carried the toys and blanket in the house.
Told me he settled in to watch some tv and kept hearing a woman's voice saying "come outside" and both of the kids were on high alert. Sam was facing the dining room and Isobel the hall entry. He thought perhaps we had left the tablet on in the crib room but I had the tablet with me. He turned off both tvs and checked all the toys and nothing was on. Gave him the creeps so he went to bed early!
I got home Monday afternoon and haven't heard a peep and the statues are all facing forward. I'm thinking the spirit liked having the grand kids here and was perturbed that they left.

I have come to the conclusion that the spirit is not a fan of travel! I spent most of the afternoon and evening researching and talking with our travel agent about a trip for 2016. All afternoon the cats kept arguing and hissing at one another in the dining room. Prior to this, they had been playing nicely and (now that Sam is on drugs), they have even gone back to grooming each other. Not so yesterday. Every time they argued it was on the floor in front of the cabinet.
I finished up with the agent and spent about another half hour on tripadvisor.com before closing up the computer and heading to the living room to watch a program on the DVR. As soon as I hit the sofa, the kids came in and jumped up, one on each side of me. Turned on the Fosters and started rubbing furry little necks. Not a hiss or swipe out of either one, first break they've taken in hours!
About fifteen minutes into the show, two things happened simultaneously, a loud thump and then the V-tech steering wheel toy started singing a song. Weird thing is, it was one it usually plays if you've been playing with the toy for awhile and then don't push any buttons for a few minutes. "Are you driving, are you driving, honk your horn", (tune of Are You Sleeping). I jumped, the cats jumped and somehow pause was hit on the remote.
I spun around and the first thing I see are both of B's bibs on the floor. Now when I went into the living room they were laying flat on the highchair tray like always. The tray is still attached to the chair but the chair is now right next to the table instead of at an angle by the buffet. And as usual, the toy is turned off and singing merrily away, I have to turn it on and off again to get it to stop. Once I turn the toy off and put the bibs and chair back in place I am positive I heard a soft chuckle. I went back and sat down, for the first time my heart was actually racing a bit. Gather the spirit was satisfied with that, didn't hear another peep for the rest of the evening.
Wednesday December 3
Hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving! We had my parents visiting and I guess the cabinet decided that they needed a taste of what we have been experiencing. The four of us were in the living room enjoying a tv program and my dad asked what was wrong with the cat. We all looked at him with blank expressions. He said he could hear a cat meowing so we put the tv on pause and listened. Nothing, so we turned the tv back on. A few minutes later we all heard it so I hit pause again. I went looking and found both cats sound asleep in the middle of the bed. We looked outside and saw no cats. Turned the tv back on and that was the end of the sounds.

Happy Halloween! Thought that we were going to have no activity tonight. Not a single trick or treater came by, the only costumes we saw were four cute and adorable grandkids via text photos. Joe and I decided to kick back and watch a recorded episode of Gracepoint. It's about 9:30 and we decide to have a snack and make this our last program since he has to work tomorrow. I fix us each a plate, we settle in and turn on the show. About fifteen minutes in we hear the weirdest noises from behind the sofa and instantly I think that one of the cats is being sick. Jump up, hit pause and look behind the sofa but there is no cat in sight. Sit back down, hit play, and we hear the sound again. Pause again, walk back behind the sofa and realize it is the animal sounds on one of B's toys.
Please note that the toy looks like it is turned off. Other tidbit of info, B likes it on the animal sound side and the noises the toy is making are from the ABC side. I always turn it off after he leaves because if the cats walk or lay on the mat it makes sounds. Animals A-Z, each has a noise or sounds like it is eating, as well as the center blue area which makes several different water noises.
We have decided that the spirit must be a prankster as so many of the "tricks" involve B's electronic toys making sounds when turned off. Can't lie though, it is a bit startling and unsettling until we figure out what is making the noises. Inevitably, once we figure it out, the noises stop as if the spirit just wanted to say, "hey, still here"!
Friday October 3
Happy Birthday to me! Joe and I went out to Denny's then to the grocery store. By the time we got home and groceries were put up it was after 8 pm. I let Joe finish up some paper work while I cleaned fruit and veggies. He decided not to watch tv and headed off to sleep as he had to get up for work in the morning. Decided I would go in and watch the recorded episode of The Amazing Race. It was only about 9:30 and both the kids were up on the sofa with me.
For once, the neighbor's dog wasn't outside barking up a storm (not sure who this dog belongs to but he sits outside the dining room window and barks). The dog has been doing this for just over a week now, not sure if this is due to sensing the spirit or deer in the yard. Timing on his barking varies, as early as 9 pm and as late as 2 am he has woken me up.
Needless to say, I was feeling good! I was able to hear the tv, the cats were being loving and cozy and all was right with the world.
About half way through the show, I jump about six feet in the air when out of the blue, B's kitchen starts singing the song about food inside. It sings this every time the refrigerator door opens. It sings a different song when the door is shut.
As you can see the kitchen is behind the sofa and is facing the dining room. Both cats are on the sofa with me and Joe is asleep so I can't even rationalize that someone walked by and jarred open the door or vibrations from heavy steps on the floor opened it. I'm coming to the conclusion that the spirit is not a fan of reality tv.
Thursday September 11
Beyond creepy. Joe came home from work tonight and asked me if I had gone out into the garage last night. I had not. Told me that when he woke up this morning both cats were in the dining room, on the table, staring at the cabinet. The door between the laundry room and the garage was ajar. (Dining room and laundry room share the wall across from the cabinet). He opened it and both garage doors were wide open. The lights that come on when the doors open were on. This means that the doors had only been open a few minutes. I immediately thought well maybe he accidentally hit his garage door opener (he keeps it in his lunch cooler) but he reminded me that would only open one door not both. The other opener is in my van. Nothing was gone or missing from garage or house. Once he came back into the house both cats ran to the kitchen for breakfast. Normal morning routine, they are waiting in the kitchen by their bowls when he comes in.
Side note: after the incident on August 15, B has not touched the cabinet door or even gone to the cabinet.
Friday August 15
This is just plain weird. I'm in the kitchen and B is playing in the Tupperware cabinet, all of a sudden I hear the bottom door of the cabinet opening and closing. There is B, on the floor in front of the cabinet, opening the door. He can't open any other door with a magnet in my house and all of a sudden he has super powers. To top it off, he is grinning and babbling while looking to the right of the cabinet and just sitting there with the door wide open. As soon as he sees me, he stands up and walks back into the kitchen like nothing happened. I close the cabinet door and go back into the kitchen and he is busy with the Tupperware as if he had never gotten up and gone into the dining room. Weird, creepy, and just plain odd is all I have to say.
Sunday July 27
I have to add two events that have taken place in the last few days. The first was on Thursday. I walked into the living room and the kids were being very cute and adorable on the table together (watching the news of all things) so I ran to grab the camera and took the following pictures:
Watching tv together. And for once we're not back to back.
Hey, it's mom!
Don't just stand there, pet me!
Oh, hey it's you, that's why my sister jumped up.
What was that?
High alert!
In less than sixty seconds, both of them are staring in the direction of the cabinet. Neither moves for the next minute so I go into the dining room. There is nothing in there visible to the naked eye. I check the floor and the wall for a spider, under the hutch and table as well. Not even a dust bunny!
The second rather odd occurrence was on Saturday morning. I had left to make the grocery store run for the replacement bag of cat food. (See Entry #10 on the main page). Joe was in the yard (again see Entry #10) so I told him I'd be back and off I went.
I love Rachael!
Didn't give it another thought until tonight at dinner when Joe told me about the figure in white. Seems that after I backed out and headed down the drive, Joe had gone back to mowing. When he came around the side of the house he thought he saw someone dressed in white in the garage. Figuring it was our neighbor (he breaks stuff, Joe fixes stuff) he turned off the mower and headed over to see what he needed. You guessed it, garage was empty! Being a good neighbor he headed around to the front thinking maybe he just missed him but there was nobody out front either. I think that Joe may now be ready to enter my world with a bit less skepticism!
Tuesday, July 22
Nothing overly creepy about a good old fashioned thunder storm, actually rather enjoy them! So, I'm sitting on my sofa watching a cooking show (big surprise) because I have absolutely no intention of going out during the storm to grocery shop. If I'm can't buy food, might as well find a new recipe to try out.
One extremely loud boom and my oxygen machine is emitting the ear splitting alarm of no power. If you've never heard it, imagine a smoke detector about 3 times as loud and higher pitched. No lights have flickered and the tv never went out so I immediately figure the surge protector was tripped. Of course it won't reset and so I figure it must be fried and head out to the garage for another one. Bring that in, unplug, re-plug and no power lights turn on. Hmmm, must be the outlet then. Change outlets and voila, everything is humming. Back to the living room I go.
Cats are still on the couch, coffee cup still on the table and Rachael is still talking while she cooks but now I can hear static from the area behind the sofa. Figure it must be that the baby monitor got hit too and I am instantly irritated because that set up was not cheap. Head to the shelf to find the monitor is off and it is perfectly fine.
However, static sound is still audible and in the vicinity so the search continues. Aha, offending item is located, V-tech steering wheel toy that B really needed to have because I love to hit the siren and hear it say, "Slow down little fella" or push the horn to hear "Outta the way". Of course, it also has many learning features including the ABC song for B! I instantly figure one of the cats jumped on the button and somehow have managed to break this toy. Jumping to conclusions never gives me the right answers.
Where does the spirit come in to this story? If you'll direct your attention to the bottom right had corner of the toy you will note that it comes on with a turning motion of the key. My cats are irritating, playful and loving creatures but overly intelligent they are not. Also, as soon as I turn the key it immediately starts playing the opening music. I rest my case.
*The outlet wasn't fried, evidently the surge protector trips a GFI outlet in the master bedroom bathroom that controls the den...That is not a spirit, that is a stupid builder!
Sunday, July 20th
Sitting on my sofa, watching Big Brother (I'm a fan but not so die hard that I know all of the players, just the important ones) and I hear that annoying noise that my phone makes when I have a text message. And yes I am aware that I could change that annoying sound but if I did, how would I know when I have a message? If it was a pleasant sound it wouldn't be loud enough for me to hear in the living room.
Due to needing glasses for just about everything but tv, the phone is in the kitchen, on the counter, next to the glasses. Most people are saying well why don't you take your glasses and phone into the living room with you? Those people don't know Samson. He believes that the table in front of the sofa belongs to him and anything on it needs to hit the floor. Of course this doesn't count himself!
Up I jump, hit pause on the DVR and off to the kitchen I go, put on my glasses, turn on the phone and surprise no message. Shaking my head, I put the glasses away and head back into the living room and hit play. Settle back in, Sam jumps back onto the table, Isobel hits the sofa and we settle back in. Approximately eight minutes go by and again I hear that sound! We repeat the above steps and once more I find that there is no message. Back to the living room we go and once everyone is back into place the tv goes back on.
The third time I hear the alert I have an aha moment and I hit pause and listen to be sure that it is in fact the phone and not some background noise from the show that I'm not properly filtering. Clear as day, it is most definitely the alert so off I go. I'm sure you know that once in the kitchen there is of course no message!
Guess Sam is just out of luck, phone and glasses are now in the living room with us (we compromised on the ottoman as a resting place for them) and once again we settle in for Big Brother. Not another peep is heard from the kitchen or the phone.
My only conclusion is that the spirit either has a really twisted sense of humor or just wasn't into this particular episode of Big Brother!
